This song was born out of a moment of deep awe — a revelation of how pure, holy, and infinitely beautiful the love of Jesus truly is. For a long time, I knew that Jesus is good, yet the depth of His goodness, gentleness, and selfless love remained hidden from me. For many years, I prayed that He would reveal Himself to me as He truly is. Often, I carried the thought in my heart: I don’t really know You — and I didn’t know how that could change.
For many years, my relationship with Jesus and with the Father was shaken. Seasons of doubt, disappointment, and loneliness marked my journey. My prayers seemed to go unanswered, and I felt alone. Yet even in that darkness, the certainty that God is real remained — and it held me fast.
Today, I look back on that path with gratitude. For it was in that dark valley that God transformed me — gently, deeply, and lovingly. I could not have experienced this kind of transformation any other way. After all those years, Jesus began to show me who He truly is — and He continues to do so to this day.
This song leads me to the place where His love was revealed for us: the Garden of Gethsemane and the cross. In the darkness, Jesus wrestled with the Father, His voice marked by mortal anguish, yet fully surrendered: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” He was betrayed, mocked, scourged, and abandoned — condemned though He was innocent. Crowned with thorns, He carried His cross up to the place of the skull and gave Himself as a sacrifice. Out of love. For us.
At the cross, the heart of the Father was revealed. There Jesus cried out, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” His love bore the sin of humanity and triumphed over sin and death. This love is deeper than words could ever describe. It does not fade. It reigns forever.
This revelation has overwhelmed my heart. The love of Jesus is what I long for. It is the song of redemption, the essence of heaven — and it dwells among us. This love has touched me so deeply that I had to express it through music. Every line of this song is a response of my heart to what He has done for me — and for all of us.
Of His love I want to sing. Every day. For the rest of my life. In reverence, I worship Him.
You can listen to the song here. And if you’d like to read along or sing along – here are the full lyrics to "His Love, So Deep":
Wrapped in darkness lay the Garden of Gethsemane
Yet the olive grove did not sleep
It listened to a voice crying to the Father in mortal anguish
Abba, if You are willing, take this cup from me
Yet not my will, but Yours be done
Softly the Mount of Olives shed its tears
But the hour had come
Torches shattered the silence
A kiss betrayed the Righteous One
Blameless, he was bound in chains
And led before the High Council
Mocked and abandoned
Scourged beyond recognition
Tormented and handed over to the sentence of death
He finally bore his cross
Crowned with thorns
Up to the Place of the Skull
Jesus, Your love shines in the world
Revealing the Father’s heart to us
Oh, Your love
It is the song of redemption
And reigns forevermore
Oh, how deep is Your love
Oh, Your love
Oh, Your love
That never fades away
I wanna sing of Your love
Every day, all of my life
Cause You love
Oh, You love
I surrender to Your love
In reverence, I worship You
Cause You love
Oh, You love
Jesus, Your love is what I long for
It is the crown of all Your glory
Oh, Your love
Oh, Your love
It is heaven’s very essence
And dwells here among us
Oh, how deep is Your love
Oh, Your love
Oh, Your love
That never fades away
I wanna sing of Your love
Every day, all of my life
Cause You love
Oh, You love
I surrender to Your love
In reverence, I worship You
Cause You love
Oh, You love
Oh Jesus, Your love
So deep, so pure, and holy
Gave itself for the lost and for sinners
Your love cried out
Father, forgive them
For they do not know what they are doing
How deep is Your love
It bore the sin of all humanity
And triumphed upon the cross
Oh, how deep is Your love
Oh, Your love
Oh, Your love
That never fades away
I wanna sing of Your love
Every day, all of my life
Cause You love
Oh, You love
I surrender to Your love
In reverence, I worship You
Cause You love
Oh, You love
Oh Jesus, Your love
How deep is Your love
Oh Jesus, Your love
How deep is Your love
In reverence, I worship You
