This song is my very first Christmas song – and it comes straight from my heart. I have a deep desire to share Jesus Christ through my music, and that especially includes my Christmas songs. Because Christmas isn’t about us – it’s about Him. The One who came into the world to seek and to save what is lost.
When I look at Christmas today, I see how Jesus has slowly been pushed out of the center. Over the decades, the focus has shifted – for many, Christmas has become a romantic, commercial holiday. In most modern Christmas songs, Jesus isn’t even mentioned anymore. Christmas has turned into X-Mas. And that breaks my heart.
I truly love the Christmas season – the decorations, the smell of cookies, the music, the warm lights. But all these things are simply beautiful additions. The real reason for all this joy is Jesus Himself. We celebrate His birth, His coming into our world, and the incredible gift He has given us.
With this song, I want to bring the focus back to Him – to the Savior who came to bring light into our darkness. This song tells who He is and why He came. The angels sing in awe and joy – and that’s exactly what we are invited to do as well: to worship.
