Seine Liebe, so tief

Lyrics   |   Scripture

This song was born out of a moment of deep awe — a revelation of how pure, holy, and infinitely beautiful the love of Jesus truly is. For a long time, I knew that Jesus is good, yet the depth of His goodness, gentleness, and selfless love remained hidden from me. For many years, I prayed that He would reveal Himself to me as He truly is. Often, I carried the thought in my heart: I don’t really know You — and I didn’t know how that could change.

For many years, my relationship with Jesus and with the Father was shaken. Seasons of doubt, disappointment, and loneliness marked my journey. My prayers seemed to go unanswered, and I felt alone. Yet even in that darkness, the certainty that God is real remained — and it held me fast.

Today, I look back on that path with gratitude. For it was in that dark valley that God transformed me — gently, deeply, and lovingly. I could not have experienced this kind of transformation any other way. After all those years, Jesus began to show me who He truly is — and He continues to do so to this day.

This song leads me to the place where His love was revealed for us: the Garden of Gethsemane and the cross. In the darkness, Jesus wrestled with the Father, His voice marked by mortal anguish, yet fully surrendered: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” He was betrayed, mocked, scourged, and abandoned — condemned though He was innocent. Crowned with thorns, He carried His cross up to the place of the skull and gave Himself as a sacrifice. Out of love. For us.

At the cross, the heart of the Father was revealed. There Jesus cried out, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” His love bore the sin of humanity and triumphed over sin and death. This love is deeper than words could ever describe. It does not fade. It reigns forever.

This revelation has overwhelmed my heart. The love of Jesus is what I long for. It is the song of redemption, the essence of heaven — and it dwells among us. This love has touched me so deeply that I had to express it through music. Every line of this song is a response of my heart to what He has done for me — and for all of us.

Of His love I want to sing.

Every day.

For the rest of my life.

This song is based on the following Bible verses (WEB). Some are quoted directly, while others are paraphrased or used as the thematic foundation.

➡️ Luke 22:42

Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.

➡️ John 18:3

Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

➡️ Luke 22:47-48

While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared. He who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”

➡️ Matthew 26:57

Those who had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.

➡️ Isaiah 53:3-5

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him. Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.

➡️ Matthew 27:26-31

Then he released Barabbas to them, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified. Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head. When they had mocked him, they took the robe off him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.

➡️ John 19:2

The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

➡️ John 19:17-18

He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”, where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.

➡️ Luke 23:33

When they came to the place that is called “The Skull”, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”

➡️ John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

➡️ 1. Peter 2:24

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.

➡️ Romans 5:8

But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

➡️Philippians 2:8

And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.

LYRICS

Oh, deine Liebe
Oh, deine Liebe
Die niemals vergeht

Von deiner Liebe möchte ich singen
Jeden Tag, mein Leben lang
Denn du liebst
Oh, du liebst
Ich gebe mich deiner Liebe hin
In Ehrfurcht bete ich dich an

Denn du liebst
Oh, du liebst

Oh Jesus, deine Liebe
Wie tief ist deine Liebe

Oh Jesus, deine Liebe
Wie tief ist deine Liebe
In Ehrfurcht bete ich dich an
